NYC DAY ONE

Polyvore accommodated us in a very nice designer hotel, The Standard Hotel, that is located in one of the hippest areas in New York City, the Meatpacking District in southwest of Manhatten. I was totally overwhelmed when I got inside the hotel. The whole stuff, from the suitcase carrier to the concierge, really everyone, looked pretty and all the guests were mostly fashion people. So there was actually no need to visit the fashion week, 'cause you could just sit in the lobby and stare at all those stylish people. But since it was my first trip to NYC I had to ramble about the city.
I started my day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel's own restaurant, The Standard Grill, where I sat next to Bridget Moynahan (from the film Coyote Ugly), one of the most beautiful actress I think. Could snap a pic of her when she left. She is such a natural beauty, isn't she?

My first stop was Soho of course. There I found all my current favourite designer stores side by side, Acne, Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, just to name a few and a lot of other great concept stores like Kirna Zabete. It's really a wide difference to look through all those designer clothes in real instead of online. So much more fun to feel the materials, see the shapes and the colours live. Wish we had a shopping area like that in Cologne or I'ld live in New York.
At the Isabel Marant store I met beautiful Cindy from the blog comeovertothedarkside.com (COTTDS). We immediately recognized each other and spoke a bit about blogging, the fashion week and stuff like that. It was like meeting an old friend and making a small talk after years. She is so cute, nice and friendly and I hope to meet her again some day. Love your blog dear!
I also stopped by the Chanel store and found my dream wedding dress. If I should ever marry in white, this dress would be the perfect dress for me. It's very simple, but absolutely beautiful. Love at the first sight.
My last stop supposed to be the 5th AVE, but I couldn't make it that far. It was too freezing cold and I had the feeling that my baby was becoming heavier and heavier. So I had to go back to the hotel to rest for the big day.

Ahw, babe! It was great meeting you too! Too bad we didn't saw each other anymore during NYFW, but if I'm in Berlin in the summer I will make sure to stop by and say hi at your store! XX
